Woost features in Cambridges Impulse entrepreneurship programme

At Woost, we are on a mission to close the gender health gap and address the unmet needs in women’s healthcare. As part of the University of Cambridge’s impulse entrepreneurship programme, our focus is simple but powerful: empowering women to take control of their health.

Innovating Women’s Health

Our founder, Melis Eda Ekinci, a chemical biologist and FemTech innovator, is leading the charge with Woost’s first product—a home blood test kit designed specifically for women. By enabling women to track key biomarkers in their menstrual blood, Woost aims to detect gynaecological conditions earlier, providing timely insights for better health outcomes.

This innovation is currently being trialled through a clinical study funded by Innovate UK Smart Grant. With support from The Henry Royce Institute, Melis is set to demonstrate the feasibility of this breakthrough diagnostic tool as we prepare for our first fundraise at the end of the year.

Why Menstrual Health Matters

Women’s healthcare has been overlooked for far too long, leaving critical gaps in diagnostics, care, and solutions. At Woost, we believe menstrual blood—an often ignored but powerful source of health data—holds the key to early detection of conditions that impact millions of women globally.

Looking Ahead

The momentum behind Woost has never been stronger. With a growing movement in FemTech and our place in Cambridge’s thriving innovation ecosystem, we are committed to transforming women’s health diagnostics.

Together, we can drive change, empower women, and make the healthcare system work better for all.
